Mr. Freeman has experience in both federal and state court in a variety of commercial contexts. He has represented clients in legal malpractice cases, partnership disputes, defamation and product disparagement cases, workers compensation claims, and employment disputes involving wrongful discharge and the enforcement of restrictive covenants. His state court experience covers all levels of the practice from the trial court to the Illinois Supreme Court. In federal court, Mr. Freeman has handled a variety of matters, including employment, antitrust and constitutional cases. He also has experience in the bankruptcy court, where he has represented creditors in bankruptcy and adversary proceedings.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Freeman served as a volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa from 1996 to 1998 and worked at Human Rights Watch from 1998 to 2000.

- Defending a large law firm against a multi-million-dollar litigation malpractice claim stemming from the clients representation of an independent music label.
- Defending a health care provider in complex antitrust matter involving registered nurses.
- Representing an attorney who was wrongfully expelled from a law partnership in an action for judicial dissolution and an accounting.
- Representing various pension funds and a union in a bankruptcy proceeding to prevent the discharge of their claims.
- Representing a real estate developer in advancing multi-million-dollar civil rights claims against the City of Chicago and other individual defendants.
- Representing a business and its owners in a defamation action involving a competitors advertisement that damaged the business and its owners reputations and disparaged the business products.
- Representing not-for-profit organizations in a federal action to protect their First Amendment rights and to ensure the City of Chicagos compliance with a consent decree.
- Defended a business in an employment dispute involving allegations of age discrimination and retaliatory discharge.
- Represented an employer in litigation seeking to enforce a restrictive covenant, including serving as second-chair in an extended evidentiary hearing for injunctive relief.
- Appointed by U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois to represent pro se plaintiff in a civil rights action against the City of Chicago as part of the district courts pro se settlement assistance program.
