Mr. Perlstadt’s practice includes all areas of civil litigation. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court, including adversary proceedings in the bankruptcy court, as well as in matters before the EEOC and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. His experience includes cases involving commercial disputes, employment and housing discrimination, intellectual property, consumer fraud, class action defense, and legal malpractice.

  • Represented consumer products company against claims of unauthorized use of a model’s image on product packaging.
  • Represented international hotel chain in class action consumer fraud action arising out of foreign exchange rates listed on web site.
  • Represented LLC and members against claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, violations of the Illinois LLC Act, dissolution, and accounting.
  • Represented defendant in copyright litigation alleging unauthorized music downloading.
  • Represented environmental engineering firm in mold remediation litigation.
  • Represented property management company against housing discrimination claims brought in both Illinois Department of Human Rights and federal district court.
  • Advised non-profit children’s mental health institution on use of charitable funds.
