
Mr. Koski is a leading lawyer with a concentration in the representation of law firms, professional service firms, business organizations, and individual lawyers on governance, structure, disputes, investigations, legal ethics and professional responsibility, risk management and compliance, and related matters.
Across his career, Mr. Koski has advised professional service businesses – including law firms, accounting firms, and investment advisories – in their domestic and international operations. He also has advised corporate clients and other entities on legal, ethical, and regulatory issues impacting their business and law department operations in US and abroad.
Before joining Miller Shakman, Mr. Koski spent two decades as inside counsel for the world’s largest global law firm. During his tenure first as US General Counsel and then as Global Chief Legal Officer, he was responsible for meeting the legal needs of a firm that grew to 13,000+ lawyers and business professionals, generating multibillion-dollar annual revenues, across 160+ locations in 80+ countries. He chaired the Global Risk Management Committee, and served on the Global Management Committee.
Since 2019, Mr. Koski has been a Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago School of Law, where he teaches Professional Responsibility in Representing Business Organizations. Prior to his affiliation with the University of Chicago, he also taught as a guest lecturer at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and other Chicago area law schools.
Mr. Koski is the founder and for more than a decade has Chaired the Chicago General Counsel Forum, a roundtable for law firm general counsel and ethics lawyers at international and domestic law firms.
He is a member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, the American Bar Association’s Center for Professional Responsibility, the Collaborative Association of Professional Responsibility Instructors in Illinois (CAPRII), and other peer groups of law firm general counsel and ethics lawyers. He has conducted more than 100 accredited lectures, seminars, and other presentations and writes frequently on legal ethics, risk management, and related topics.
Mr. Koski is a Board Member of Lawyers Defending American Democracy and is active in the intersection of legal ethics and democratic principles.
