
Ms. Kabat represents companies and individuals in complex litigation matters in both federal and state court. She advises law firms and lawyers in matters involving claims of legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, and attorney disciplinary matters. She also regularly represents individuals in divorce and other family law matters, often involving complex financial matters and business valuations. Her cases have spanned a broad range of other types of disputes, including contract disputes, copyright law, shareholder derivative matters, qui tam litigation, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) cases, and constitutional law matters. Ms. Kabat is a trained volunteer mediator through the Center for Conflict Resolution.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kabat worked as an associate for a large national law firm and clerked for the Hon. John Z. Lee on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Before attending law school, Ms. Kabat worked in education and spent several years living and working in China.
